EYFS programme - NAPE Advises Headteachers not to be an early adopter

There is a lack of recognition of the youngest children, and a reinforcement of current trends towards top-down pressures on the Reception Year.  Children in the early years are not yet pupils, and the expectations are more likely to result in children losing motivation and confidence in relation to reading and maths, coupled with a serious distortion of their prime needs.
